With more and more people getting out and towing GM saw an opportunity to make it easier for the end user to tow their trailers. The Trailer Length Indicator shows a red overlay to show the position of the trailer when the turn signal is activated and a vehicle may interfere with your lane change maneuver. The Jack-Knife Alert tracks the position of the trailer in relation to the vehicle and displays an alert if there is a potential jack-knife situation. The Rear Trailer View now includes guidelines when in reverse to help back into tight spots, this does require the GM auxiliary accessory camera. The Rear Side View now shows a split view of the left and right sides of the truck making it easier to to see any surrounding objects. The Cargo Bed View Enhancement has a zoom view and bed hitch guidance. The Multi-Pro Tailgate is now offered on the GMC Sierra 1500 SLE and Elevation trims. The Max Tow rating for the GMC Sierra with the 3.0 Diesel adds an additional 1,900 lbs of trailering capacity bringing the max trailering capacity to 9,300 lbs. For the GMC Sierra 3500HD Work Truck, regular cab, DRW, 2wd models the maximum trailering capacity is increased 500 lbs to 36,000 lbs, making it the Best in Class. The 2021 GMC Sierra HD models will have a Black Diamond Special Edition, pictured above. The 3.0 Diesel option on the GMC Sierra 1500 is now only $995 more than the 5.3L V-8, this is $1,500 cheaper than previously.
