  • How to Properly Measure the length of your shocks

With many lift kit manufacturers using different shock mounts and lengths it is important that you verify the length of your shocks before ordering for your lift kit. You will want to measure from the center of the upper mounting point to the center of the lower mounting point. You will also want to verify if your shock is equipped with a stud, eyelet, clevis or bar pin for the mounting points. The 2001-2010 GM HD trucks were equipped with front shocks that have stud at the top and eyelet on the bottom, while the 2011-2020 trucks are equipped with a bar pin at the top and a clevis at the bottom. The rear shocks are all eyelet to eyelet.
