    Basic DIY Wheel Bearing install
    2001-2010 (GMC/Chevrolet) 2500-3500 HD Single Rear Wheel.
    2002-2007 (Hummer H2)
    Torque Specs:
    Axle Nut-177 lb.ft
    Spindle Bolts-133 lb.ft
    Main Caliper Bolts-221 lb.ft



    Tools Needed:
    Heavy Duty Floor Jack
    Heavy Duty Jack Stands
    Wheel Blocks
    Zip Ties
    36mm 6 Point 1/2" Impact Socket
    21mm Socket
    15mm socket
    Ratchet and Extensions
    Standard Screw Driver
    Torq Wrench
    LocTite - Blue & Red
    Rubber Mallet

    -Park on a level surface. Block rear wheels and set brake. Using a Heavy Duty floor jack raise the front end and place jack stands under the vehicle and lower to support the front of the vehicle. Remove the wheel to get to this point below

    -Take a 21mm socket with ratchet and loosen both 21mm bolts holding brake caliper to the spindle.

    -Remove the caliper and support it with zip ties or similar so the brake lines do not stretch or pull apart (This truck had a 4-6" inch lift that has the brake lines and wheel speed sensor re routed different then stock. on a stock application it may be necessary to remove the 10mm bolt securing brake line to spindle)

    -Remove the wheel speed sensor from main harness and place tot he side

    -Pull and remove the rotor

    -Carefully remove the axle nut dust cover, you can use a flat head screw driver and mallet. Place cover to the side for re installation later.

    -with a 36mm socket remove the axle nut

    -May be necessary to tap axle to loosen axle for removal.

    -Remove the four 15mm bolts holding the hub assembly to the spindle with a 15mm socket. An extension will be optional.

    -After the four bolts holding the hub are removed, the removal of the hub and backing plate can be done.

    -Make sure the o-ring inside the spindle is not damaged. be sure to clean all the debris out of the center of the spindle for clean easy install

    -Place and install backing plate with 15mm bolts. Use blue lock tite and apply to the studs

    -Place new hub assembly on spindle. before the lock tite cures torque the four 15mm bolts to 133 ft lbs

    -Apply red lock tite to axle nut and start nut.

    -Torque nut to 177 ft lbs (utilizing a pry bar will assist with this process)

    -Re install dust cover. Tapping with a rubber mallet to assure no damage. little pressure not to damage

    -Install rotor at this time

    -Using red lock tight, install brake caliper. Torq to 225 ft lbs
